Fruit Ninja Kinect is a Kinect-enabled version of Fruit Ninja for the XBox 360 console. Gameplay is enhanced by using the motion-sensing Kinect controller to detect the player's movements. On the game screen, the player views themselves as a shadowy silhouette against a background scene, and arm and hand movements are visualized as blade-slashing arcs that slice up fruit. Like the Apple iOS versions of the game, Fruit Ninja Kinect has both a single-player mode as well as a Party mode, which allows two players to either play co-op or go head-to-head in real time.
Fruit Ninja Kinect [1] was first made available for purchase on August 10, 2011. It was the very first XBLA (Arcade) game to make use of the Kinect.[2] Additional downloadable content for the XBLA game has been released throughout 2011 and 2012. Fruit Ninja Kinect won "Casual Game of the Year" from the 15th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards[3] and it continues to be ranked in the Top 10 best-selling XBLA games of all time. [4]
