Classic Mode is one of the three main modes in Fruit Ninja. In Classic Mode, the player must slice any Fruit that appears on the screen, while avoiding the Red Bombs. In this mode, the player has three lives. Dragon Fruit and Pomegranates are present here, but Bonus Bananas do not appear.

Mechanics

Classic gameplay

An example of Classic Mode

The game begins with the player having three lives, indicated by X marks on the top right corner of the screen. The player will lose one life per each fruit dropped. If all lives are lost or a bomb was hit, the game immediately ends. The player will be safe if Bomb Deflect was triggered. An extra life is granted, indicated by a removed X mark, whenever a multiple of 100 points (including 100 points itself) is reached.

As the game progresses, fruit and bombs are sent out and dropped at an increasing rate, making the game more difficult. On average, one bomb will spawn after six fruit is sliced.

Trivia

  • Classic Mode is the only mode playable in older versions of Fruit Ninja Free, but Zen Mode, along with Arcade Mode became available in version 1.8.8.
  • There is a blade that gives one extra life to the player in Classic, so instead of three lives, the player has four lives. The blade is called Calligraphy Brush.
